Bulbal Village - A turn-over ceremony activity for the school supplies donated by the RD Foundation for the Literacy Program spearheaded by the Evangelism Outreach Ministry (EOM) was conducted together with the RD Foundation PNG, and the RDTC Community Relations Department on July 24, 2008 at Bulbal Village, Siar, Madang Province

The event which was well attended by RD Executives, government representatives, business partners, press people and the community was considered a take-off activity for the RD Foundation extension of its mission in Papua New Guinea in serving the needy communities.

Mr. Ritche Rivera, the RD Foundation President and the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the RD Group of Companies said that "It is the RD Foundation's intention to extend its program in PNG to assist in developing and uplifting the quality of life of poor communities." He further manifested that like in the Phlippines where the Foundation is active in implementing programs on livelihood, health and education, the same will be implemented in PNG based on what the communities need.

Mr. Rodrigo Rivera, the RD Chief Executive Officer, before handling over the school materials to Advisor of Education of Madang Province, reminded everyone present "that only by preparing and helping the young minds will these children have a more secured and progressive future could be achieved. An educated citizenry is a vital resource which serves as a foundation of strong nation."

In responding to the donation given, Mr. Chris Bulu, the Advisor for Education, explicitly expressed his gratitude on behalf of the Madang Province and the beneficiaries. He encourage the PNG Nationals that by saying "only through education could we fully participate in the process of development."
